Application Process and Timeline

Every child deserves the opportunity to better themselves and follow their dreams. The Ida C. Koran Trust provides academic assistance for associates with dependent children seeking to broaden their horizons through undergraduate study. Below are the application details and deadlines. Applications will be open for submission on 15 October 2021 for the 2022-23 academic year.

Application Timeline

Applications must be retuned by 24 February 2022 (3pm CST). Scholarship Management services will begin processing & evaluating applications after this date. Students are notified of their award status in mid-late May.

Application Process

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, a statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, an outside appraisal and financial need.

Application Materials

Application materials are available 15 October 2021. Students should create a log-in ID and password. All materials must be submitted by 24 February 2022 (3PM CST)


Financial Need Assessed

Applications are evaluated for academic merit, extracurricular/work/volunteer experience and financial need. Financial need is assessed to determine the amount of each award. Recipients must demonstrate financial need to receive an award.


Recipient Receives Award

After review and approval, the awards are to be used for educational expenses for one full year of study at an accredited institution: Technical or vocational school, community college, nursing school, trade school, college or university.
